Job Title:  Database Administrator/VMware Support

 

eJust Systems, a developer of sophisticated Charge Management Systems for use in the public safety and justice markets, is seeking an experienced and energetic software professional to join our growing application development and customer support team.  The successful candidate will work on the development and support of a very large application product used by law enforcement organizations. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a computer science degree or equivalent, and some experience with large projects and/or enterprise system environments.  The candidate must also demonstrate strong communication skills, pride and professionalism.  Police background check and a valid driver’s license is required. 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, tune and support IBM Dynamic Server database
  • Install and support VMWare servers
  • On call emergency support (rotating schedule)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • End user customer support for technical issues
  • Periodic travel to customer sites
  • Other duties as required

 

Technical Skills:

  • Post Secondary Education
  • Experience using IBM IDS (Informix), Oracle  or other large scale RDBMS
  • Two or more years of advanced hands-on Linux experience (Redhat preferred)
  • VMware/vSphere experience (certification preferred)
  • Experience with SMTP, Samba, VPN, VNC, LPR, NFS, LVM, RAID in High Availability environments

  • Ability to interact with peers developing related and connected application software products
  • Ability to work on several different assignments simultaneously

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to visualize/conceptualize
