Tasks:
You will be part of a strong team and your main responsibility will be purchasing while at the same time keeping a lean inventory. Your tasks will include
- Daily purchasing of residential and commercial products, weekly purchasing of goods for production using the SAP system
- Administration of costs in SAP
- Negotiate pricing, delivery and freight conditions, as well as optimal order quantities
- Identify new suppliers and compare pricing
- Source and procure products
- Follow up on past-dues
- Inventory reduction
- Authorize invoices and purchase orders
- Provide customs information as required
Essential requirements, skills and qualifications:
- College-level business degree, degree in Purchasing will be preferred
- A minimum of five years in a purchasing position in a manufacturing environment with foreign customers and suppliers
- SAP R3 experience is a strong asset
- CPP is an asset
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Very strong written and verbal communications skills and phone manners
- Fundamental accounting knowledge
- Strong user skills in MS Office
- German language skills are an asset
