Job Posting – Systems Administrator

Transfreight is a North American-based, premier third-party logistics provider (3PL) that uses its lean logistics expertise, robust technologies, and kaizen culture to engineer customized solutions for its customers.  We currently have an opening for a full time systems administrator at our Canadian headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is flexible as well as a team player. The candidate should strive to excel and be able to demonstrate the ability to implement, maintain, and document production systems in a high availability environment.

The Systems Administrator will work within a team and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the day to day administration of the server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Plans, tests and implements Active Directory upgrades.

·        Installs, configures and upgrades various MS Windows server operating systems and software

·        Maintains File Server including security permissions

·        All aspects of core application deployment including (install, configure, documentation, 2nd level support)

·        Leads different IT Projects related to the position

·        Documents new and updated IT processes.

·        Acts as a technical resource in assisting users and the Help Desk to resolve incidents (Second Level Support).

·        Performs system backups and restores

·        Performs routine system maintenance

·        Administration of software licensing

·        Performs on-call service in rotation with peers.

·        Follows the existing change control policies.

·        Reviews and makes recommendations on hardware and software

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

 

·        Strong knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP

·        Solid experience with Windows Servers ( configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting)

·        Expertise with NTFS security permissions

·        Good knowledge of Windows Terminal Services

·        Excellent communication skills

 

Highly Preferred Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

 

·        Microsoft Share Point Administration experience

·        Virtualization experience

·        Microsoft Exchange and BES experience

·        EMC Celerra experience

·        Terminal server experience

·        MCSE is an asset
