Description

  • Responsible for all aspects of general accounting including accounts payable and payment processing, HST, and bank reconciliations, including the supervision of the staff in these areas.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data; review and approve all journal vouchers and GL subsystem interfaces.
  • Coordinate month-end close process
  • Review and approve all accounting reconciliations and financial analysis prepared by staff
  • Reconcile several complex accounts on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for Audit process for all payment types including cheques, EFT’s, wires and online payments
  • Coordinate contract administration (leases, loans, billings, payments)
  • Create complex monthly uploads as determined necessary
  • Approve all construction lien documentation
  • Implement processes for new programs, develop procedures and policies, and related internal controls as directed by senior management
  • Special projects as required

Requirements

  • Must have a professional accounting designation
  • Must have a minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting and supervisory capacity
  • Must have superior analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Must have advanced computer skills in the use of financial systems, advanced spreadsheets, word processing, databases, report writers.
  • Must have sales tax experience
  • Must have excellent human relation skills with a proven ability to lead staff
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of working in a dynamic work environment and able to meet deadlines
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
